There’s a certain magic in making your own doll. It becomes a special companion and a memorable keepsake. Children can make their own soft playmates in our Studio without having to push in stuffing or sew up seams.
Choose from an assortment of cotton doll bodies in various shapes and colors, then decide what kind of character it will be.
Draw faces and shoes – and even bellybuttons – with special markers, using our guidelines and your imagination. Then create an outfit out of colored felt – a poncho, dress, jacket, or skirt and shirt. Add pockets, tiaras, necklaces, and eye patches.
Take your new friend home with you the very same day.
Children of the world dolls
Children come in all colors, and so do our cotton dolls. Every year on Martin Luther King day we hold a very special event in our studio. Kids can choose a 7” stuffed doll body and create a character (person or animal) complete with face, fingernails, and clothes that you have designed.
Our dolls are made to be real dolls, not merely decorations, so they are sturdy enough to be loved and hugged without restraint. They are made in the USA of cotton skin and poly stuffing. These plump 7” figures come in various skin colors, but they’re not just multicultural, they’re multi-species as well! Our bears have round little ears and our bunnies have long ears that stand up. When you want a kitty doll, you can trim the ears to a point, draw on whiskers, and glue on a fabric tail. When you want a people doll, just cover up the ears or trim them off altogether. It won’t hurt a bit!
Our doll parties are popular with both boys and girls from ages 5 and up. Turns out that boys like making play characters just as much as girls do. If your child wants a theme party, we can do that: pirates and ninjas, ballerinas and mermaids are just some of the possibilities. Whatever the choice, we’ll find a clever way to help the party child and friends create costumes that match their imaginings.
