Stop by Artbeat on New Year's Eve as we say good-bye to 2015 and welcome 2016 with a glass of bubbly and other treats. Help us decorate a jumbo "2016" for display, try some surprise activities, and leave with your own bubbles and noisemakers to continue the celebration at home. Join us any time from 4 to 6 PM, and still have time to celebrate with friends and family. We will be open until 7 PM on New Year's Eve, and closed on New Year's Day.

What’s Your Passion? Let us know…

As Sweet 2016 takes off, this is a perfect time to renew your creative life. Here are some ways Artbeat can help:

1) Start an art journal: our Studio workshop this weekend (January 9 & 10) is creating a special cover for a D-I-Y journal. Bring your own pictures or words to help set your intention, and use our paints or decoupage papers to complete the look. Add a spiral binding and you’ll have a personalized book to help you begin new things in the new year. $15 pp.

2) Tell the world about your passion. Whether your ‘first’ language consists of words or pictures, you’ve got a story to tell. Artbeat invites you tosubmit a poem, essay, or painting, photo, or collagetelling us about what lights your creative spark. Submissions will be shared as part of Capitol Square’s Romancing the Square celebration in February. See complete details below.

3) Celebrate your birthday with us. Let us know when your birthday is, and we’ll make sure you can do something special and creative to celebrate. If you’ve let us know you’re a January baby, you’ll be hearing from us shortly! Artbeat is turning 20 this year and we’ll have many ways to mark the occasion, starting with celebrating your birthday. Next time you visit Artbeat, check to make sure we have your birthday on file. This is a program for our adult customers; a program for children is in the works.
